Almost ten years ago I released a video called 'Milestone No. 1,' and the premise of the video was very simple. Capture all of the little moments on my little brother's graduation day so that, one day, he'd have a video to look back on. A few years later, another major milestone happened (hence the name π), and another, more serious attempt at a documentary, followed. I'd say both are products of my skill at the time, but both are special in their own right.
Itβs been quite a while since then. There were plans for a third film, one centered on my first big purchase, but that idea eventually faded. Instead, something far more meaningful took its place β a lifelong dream realized: attending WWDC 25. Ever since I was nine years old, that event has held an almost mythical status in my mind. So when the opportunity finally came, the film evolved from a casual project into something much more intentional.
Joining me on this trip were two of my closest friends, Lucas and Josh. Together, we set out with a couple of cameras, a new drone, and the shared goal of making something honest. Beyond the excitement of visiting Apple Park and attending the conference, this trip became a test. Was filmmaking still the path I wanted to pursue, or had my passion shifted toward software development?
And, in the end, Milestone No. 3 morphed into something I never could have imagined. Yes, it still focuses primarily on my dilemma, but woven throughout is a story of three friends. Three friends who, despite all of their previous plans falling through, followed through this time and created memories that will never fade. Three friends.
I like to think the film is, at the very least, decent. If you're interested in checking it out, the film is available now on YouTube and Sparrow Films.
